Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) Versus Personal Selling – ‘Strictly based on Experience’
Check your marketing – is it having MLM or Personal Selling characteristics? Like I said, I haven’t seen the term ‘Multi-Level Marketing’ (MLM) in any professional academic publication, even with recent ones, but I have seen ‘personal selling’. This could be suggesting that MLM is a street term. My experience in Multi-Level Marketing is solely based in QuestNet, of which I have written articles about in this blog. The way MLM was presented to me makes it clear that it is some form of personal selling that compromises some very important business principles. In this article I will put clear marks of why MLM may not be ideal for a sound business.
MLM is short sighted in nature, while personal selling makes certain that the customer should be satisfied and willingly come back to buy in the future. MLM seem to be more of a hit and run concept, where the customer never get the essentials of after sales support, giving feedback and follow up after sales to establish relationships.
Personal selling keeps record and give attention to established customers. The understand is that the hard work given to establishing the customer must be valuable for a longest time possible with the customer. Therefore, priorities are given to both existing and prospect customers.
I like proper personal selling and shall post an article on how to use it to improve sales for your business in this blog. You are welcome to register with us to get updates over email.
