The Goldfish Attitude

 

A story is told of an old man who was try to save millions of goldfish that had been washed out by a tide onto the sea shore. All he was doing was picking one fish at a time and throw it back into the sea. People passing by thought this was a joke since there were millions of fish dying in the more than 500 meters sea shore stretch and he only could save one at a time. People passing by wanted to know why he was determined even when it seemed impossible to save all the fish. The old man’s response was interesting, ‘it makes a difference to the one fish I save’. Actually, this old man’s effort was not vanity because fish hatch eggs in thousands or even millions. So, if he managed to save a few, he managed to save the species to multiply some time in the future in the sea.

 

In a nut shell, the old man was long sighted and didn’t like the idea of focusing in the now. All that this man did was focus on what he thought was working for him. Focusing is actually the best thing to do for yourself to achieve your goals in life. This is the attitude that people need to adopt to facilitate manifestation of their dreams.
