If you worry about your website popularity, you’d time and again check your rank with friendly websites such as Alexa.com.  Such websites will help you notice the impact on your traffic for every effort you make. Two months ago my traffic ranking had improved a lot and I was impressed at that, but I lost out on keeping it improving from a consistency gap.

The internet has millions of websites and each is ranked in order of popularity against all existing ones. As such, dropping ranks could easily mean 100, 000 change in no time. I used to post articles in series and no four days would pass without having posted one. Unfortunately, commitment on exams in November demanded more time that I couldn’t keep writing and posting articles in three weeks, thus the gap was created and it resulted in my website getting ranked 1.6 million lower.

Today I’m struggling to attract as much traffic for my website as it was 3 month ago. This makes me lament the loss, at the same time realize and treasure each rank and consistently work at improving it.  I guess it’s a learning curve that other webmasters should learn from also. This is a mistake I wouldn’t want to do again. Next time, I will make sure that I at least post photos or shorter articles, just so that my website keeps alive.
