Have you seen clever webamsters that make uninformed visitors click adsense ads thinking they are responding to the call of the website? I have seen such stunning tricks, I don’t favour these, to management adsense clicks from a software download webpage.

This webmaster invite visitors to download a free photo editing software and then puts a downloading indicator at the top of the page – just so we think the link is active – and below puts a block of adsense ads and at the very bottom puts the real download link as an alternatives.

What am I saying?

Why should I bother if someone is cheating just to earn from Google (a company I don’t know or even care about)? Ethics are the basis for my concern. I want to believe this is one reason there are some internet marketers that claim to be successful yet they cannot reveal their success formula. They know it, but cannot recommend it and mislead many to whatever false explanations they could give for their success.

On another note, I don’t think it is far to the advertisers that put their money into Google to promote their websites / products. It is obvious that the people that click those ads are not really interested in them but in downloading the software. Fortunately, I noticed the trick and went straight to the download link and got the software. To my surprise, the software wont work offline yet many users prefer a non-dependant product.

Who is the culprit?
